Webdesign design process
The web design
process
Webdesign designers often think about the Webdesigndesign process with a focus on technical issues such as wireframes, code, and
content management. But great design is not about how you integrate the
social media buttons or even smooth visuals. Great design is actually
about creating a website design that fits in with an overall strategy.
Well-designed websites offer much more than just
aesthetics. They attract visitors and help people understand the product,
company, and branding through various indicators, including visuals, text, and
interactions. That means that every element of your site must work towards
a certain goal.
But how do you achieve that harmonious
synthesis of elements? Through a holistic web design process that takes
both form and function into account.
For me, this website design process requires 7 steps:
Target identification:
Where I work with the customer to determine which goals
the site must fulfill. That is, what its purpose is.
Range definition:
As soon as we know the goals of the site, we
can define the scope of the project. That is, which pages and functions
the site needs to achieve the goal and the timeline to develop it.
Creating a sitemap and wireframe:
With the scope well defined, we can start
digging in the sitemap, and define how the content and functions that we have
defined in the definition of the scope will relate to each other.
Content creation:
Now that we have a larger view of the site,
we can start creating content for the individual pages, always keeping search
engine optimization in mind to keep pages focused on one topic. It is
essential that you have real content to work with for our next phase:
Visual elements:
With the site architecture and some content,
we can start working on the visual brand. Depending on the customer, this
may already be well defined, but you can also define the visual style from the
basics. Tools such as style tiles, mood boards, and element collages can
help with this.
